A Critical Assessment of the Issue of a Macro-paradigmatic Influence in Comparative Politcal Analysis

Abstract This paper assessess the usefulness of the macro-paradigmatic orientation in comparative political analysis. Accordingly, it synthesises the contributions of some of the leading scholars in this enterprise. In the process, it was argued that, at the macro-level, paradigms tend to generate opposition or promote ideological debate. This notwithstanding the areas in which, a paradigm of comparative analysis do exist, was identified with analytical precision.
