Study of Interrelationship Between Home Environment, Social

Intelligence and Socio-economic Status Among Males and Females

Abstract The present study was undertaken to assess the existing levels of inter-relationship between home environment, social intelligence and socio-economic status across various age levels and two sexes.  The data was collected from randomly selected four high schools in the villages of Ludhiana –I block  of Ludhiana district.  Home environment was assessed by using Mishra’s Home Inventory, Social Intelligence was assessed by using Chadha and Genesan’s (1986) Social Intelligence Scale and to know the socio-economic status, Kulshreshta’s Socio-Economic Status Scale (1981) was used.  Results revealed that socio-economic status has got effect on social intelligence.  Home environment also showed positive impact on social intelligence.
